Sony: 3D update for the PS3 will arrive in October games

From October 2010 for films: An update makes the PS3 fit for the third dimension.

T he future of media entertainment is in the third dimension – if one gives the current technology trends faith. As of October 2010, PlayStation 3 owners get into the 3D movie experience. After Sony fit made the console in June 2010 for 3D games, it should provide a further update of the PS3 in October, play movies in three dimensions. This was confirmed by Sony under the Internationale Funkausstellung IFA 2010 in Berlin.

To use this feature, you need a TV that supports the transmission standard HDMI 1.4, and shutter glasses. The range of 3D movies on Blu-ray is not yet clear – only a handful of titles to support the additional dimension (as of September 2010). (Db)
