Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9700 Pro test and review

Sapphire Atlantis takes the same shape as the other chips teams Radeon 9700 Pro. We thus find the standard outputs, namely TV, VGA and DVI. Two monitors or even three can be supported through the utility Hydravision, ATI.

In terms of hardware changes, Radeon graphics card manufacturers can slightly change the ventilation system. Sapphire took the opportunity to screw in a round fan bearing the company logo. The downside: the 128 MB of graphics memory are not even cooled passively. And while the fan is quieter than many Geforce4 graphics cards, it is noisier than the Radeon 9700 Pro Maya 2 Gigabyte.

To ensure the proper functioning of the processor, the card is not powered via the AGP, but by a separate power cable. If it is not connected, a warning message appears on the screen and Windows (or other OS) does not start but displays an error message. This excellent assistance nevertheless found on all Radeon 9700 Pro cards.

This card comes with two cables (DVI to VGA and video) and DVD PowerDVD XP 4.0 playback software. However, any games or overclocking utility not part of the batch.
